Homepage anatomy

The anatomy of a SaaS homepage that converts.

Most SaaS homepages fail in the first screen. Visitors decide in seconds whether the product is for them, so every section has one job, in this order.

01A hero that names the customer and the outcome

Who it is for and what changes for them, in one line. Then one sentence of how, a real product visual and one primary action. “Book a demo” or “Start free”, not both competing.

02Proof right under the fold

Customer logos, a number that matters or one short quote, close to the first call to action. Early-stage teams can use design partners, pilot results or investor names.

03The problem in the customer’s words

Describe the current way of working and what it costs them. If prospects nod at this section, the rest of the page sells itself.

04Features written as outcomes

Three to five capabilities, each with a benefit headline and a real screenshot, not an abstract illustration. Big enough to read on a laptop.

05Trust for bigger buyers

Security, compliance, integrations and support answer the questions procurement will ask. Put them on the page before they ask.

06Pricing and a final call to action

Show pricing or explain how it works. End with the same primary action as the hero, plus an answer to the last objections in a short FAQ.

Checklist

Common SaaS website mistakes, and the fix.

These are the issues that come up most often on early-stage SaaS websites.

  • A headline about the category, not the customer. Say who it is for and what improves.
  • Too many calls to action. One primary action per page, repeated, not five different buttons.
  • Screenshots too small to read. Show real product moments, cropped and annotated.
  • Features listed, outcomes missing. Every feature needs a “so that” for the buyer.
  • No proof near the decision. Logos, numbers or quotes belong next to the call to action.
  • Mobile as an afterthought. Many first visits come from a phone, from an ad or a post.
  • A slow site. Heavy video and scripts above the fold cost you visitors before they read a word.

FAQ

SaaS website questions.

How much does a SaaS website cost?

At Dude Studios the first page is $1,500 and each extra page is $1,000 to design. Building it in Webflow, Framer or WordPress is $1,000 per page, so a 5-page site, designed and built, is $10,500. Our pricing guide compares this with freelancer and agency ranges, and the calculator estimates your own budget.

Webflow or Framer for a SaaS website?

Both work well. We recommend one based on who will edit the site after launch, how much CMS content you publish and what your team already knows. We design in Figma first, so the choice does not limit the design.

Can you redesign our existing website?

Yes. Most projects start with a free audit of your current site: 3 to 5 prioritized fixes with annotated screenshots. Then we decide together whether you need a few new pages or a full redesign.

Can you also design our product UI?

Yes. We design dashboards, onboarding and product screens in Figma, so the website and the product feel like the same company.

Who works on the project?

Senior designers and developers from Europe. Nobody on your project is learning on your budget, and our working day overlaps with US hours.

How do we start?

Send us your site for a free audit or book a 30-minute call. Within one business day you get a direction, a timeline and a fixed price. Work starts when you approve the proposal and pay 50% upfront.
